A few of 'lasts' for the Telfords for a bit

As the time approaches for us to leave (or at least we think it's approaching), we are experiencing some 'lasts'; last time to eat at a really good Mexican restaurant, last time seeing some relatives, last time on the beach in Carlsbad, etc. Although we know these 'lasts' just mean we won't do them for a while and not truly the last time we will experience these things, we are still slightly melancholy about it all. It seems when life is about to change for you and a move is around the corner is when you have the best conversations with friends, the new neighbors who have kids your kids' ages, and opportunities you have been waiting for seem to be presented around every bend. However, our decision has been made and we are so excited about this new chapter in our lives.

We are spending the week with Maytee and Ken Green, some dear friends of ours, in Carlsbad, California. Ken and I (Dana) have been friends for almost 20 years. This week we've relaxed on the beach, eaten great food, did some more relaxing on the beach, eaten more, and again relaxed on the beach.  It has been a fantastic way to complete an incredible summer.

I know we have been lulled into a false sense of what real life is these last 8 weeks, as we have had very little to do besides getting ready to leave and spend time with family and friends. But it has been wonderful and has refreshed us for this new adventure.
